APEC CHINA BUSINESS COUNCIL
ACBC was officially founded in Beijing as a non-profit industrial and commercial organization co-founded by entrepreneurs on August 16, 2013, including Chinese representatives of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), with the support of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Meanwhile, ACBC is guided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.
APEC is the premier government forum committed for promoting free and open trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region. Against the background of ever deepening economic globalization, APEC economies have recognized the vital importance of strengthening understanding and cooperation between public and private sector as a fundamental solution to promote sustainable and stable growth in the region. In order to encourage participation of the private sector, The United States, Japan and the Russian Federation established dedicated business groups for APEC respectively in 1993, 1999 and 2011. It has been proven to be an effective Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for stimulating business input to the APEC process.
With strong political support and institution mechanism, APEC has emerged as an important forum for next generation regional and global trade issues. China will host APEC in 2014 again, which provides a great opportunity for the Chinese private sector to engage in the discussion of global trade issues.
